Worcester County will now accept plastics with designations numbered 1 through 7

Worcester County joins Dorchester County and the State of Delaware in accepting virtually all plastic containers. As written in an email from the Sierra Club, Maryland Chapter, Lower Eastern Shore Group, "Until now, you've only been able to recycle plastics with a 1 or 2 category designation. Now, Worcester County will accept plastics with designations numbered 1 through 7! No more squinting at the container or using a magnifying glass to see what number your plastic is. If you, like so many of us, just threw everything in the same recycling bin anyway, most of what we tried to recycle went into a landfill with all the other trash. Now at least there is the hope that it will be reused. (Remember, only about 5 to 7% of recycled plastic is ever usably recycled. That's why we need changes from corporate brainstormers as to how they package and sell their goods.)"
