Roaring Point Coastal Cleanup Leaves the Beach Looking Pristine!

Updated: Nov 25, 2019

Part of the team of 19 volunteers at the Friend's booth Saturday the 21st

The volunteers were "Talkin' Trash" last Saturday as we picked up several hundred pounds of litter. Teams scoured beach, dunes, and maritime forest to return the beach and surroundings back to "pristine" for future visitors.

Some of the exciting things we found:

  • two totally collapsed, collapsable beach chairs

  • one tire

  • lots of bottles - like a whole lot

  • diapers (our concern is that the litterers are breeding)

  • just about anything else you can think of but shouldn't mention

It was a perfect day for a walk on the beach and we all had that great feeling you get when you know you have done something good for everyone.

A Family Day at the Beach!

It was great to see some new faces. We even had a family that made an afternoon of the cleanup. A special thanks to those non-member volunteers that heard about the cleanup and showed up because they care! (Allison and Joe Esham from Nanticoke, Debbie Jenkins from Delmar, and Erica, Chris and Lily Howard from Salisbury).
