MDE has extended the comment period from August 17 to October 17, 2022 regarding the application by AquaCon Maryland, LLC for a NPDES discharge permit (New State Permit Application 21-DP-3867, NPDES Application No. MD0072184).
We encourage our members and others interested in the future health of Marshyhope Creek, and the Nanticoke River downstream, to let MDE know the people do not want this huge threat. Written mailed comments must be addressed to Maryland Department of the Environment, Attn: Paul Hlavinka, Industrial Stormwater Permits Division, 1800 Washington Blvd., Ste. 455, Baltimore, MD 21230-1708. Emailed comments should be addressed to email@example.com .
A high volume of letters to the editor are needed in response to Chesapeake Bay Foundation's (CBF) and our Op Ed, the Sun and Post pieces, and the Star Democrat reporting on the hearing. CBF took and posted on Twitter drone footage of the discharge location here.
